The Frenchy Touch in Australia
Arthur Garcia
Frenchy style radio in oz
Arthur is one of the familiar voices on Exigone Radio, the Aussie Frenchy Radio launched in 2023.
Approximately 70,000 French speaking people call Australia home. New Australians, migrants, temporary workers and holiday-visa students, all pending between two cultures and often looking for a new balance as they have left behind a country that is known for its strong traditions and attachments to French culture.
Exigone Radio shines a fresh light on that interesting duality. not by highlighting contrasts and differences, but by offering a positive voice to those who call both cultures home.
A bilingual radio station in Australia
When Exigone was first launched, the focus was on bringing a fresh dose of French culture to listeners in Australia.
But we gradually understood that the biggest added value of Exigone is its identity as…an Australian station. That’s right, the content is aimed at people who live their lives in Australia, and who happen to have that strong connection to French language and French culture.
No lenghty debates about current affairs in France. No overviews of the latest soccer results in France. There are plenty of French stations to get that information from.
On Exigone, presenters talk about life in Australia. They just happen to be bilingual and they will use French and English to keep you entertained and connected to the francophone communities down under.
